Understanding Club Points
What are they and who gets them?
Club Points are a way to measure RDGC members’ involvement, despite their skill level or tag number. These points will be tracked at http://rolladiscgolf.com/playersBoard.php
or you can access them from our home page by clicking “Player’s Board” on the top navigation pane.
Members can earn club points for the following:
- Club-sponsored rounds including leagues, tag rounds, random doubles, etc.
- Club-sponsored tournaments
- Course cleanup and other services to the club, courses, and events
Club Points are a perk of RDGC Membership. Only members will show on the Club Point roster. Members automatically earn a discount on RDGC merch and will also be offered additional rewards at specified tiers of Club Points (TBD).
So how do they work?!
For a quick synopsis, watch this YouTube video. https://youtu.be/W1uwFBFFnwY
In club-sponsored events, points are accrued based on the number of players you beat. All players will also get 1 point for playing in the event, which ensures that even the last place still gets a point for playing in the event.
- For example, let’s say there are 10 club members who play in the event.
- If you take 1st place, you will get 10 points
- 9 for the players you beat
- Plus 1 point for playing the event.
- If you take 7th place, you will accrue 3 points
- 2 because you beat two players
- Plus 1 point for playing in the event
- If you take 1st place, you will get 10 points
In the event of a tie, the tied players will share the lower point value. Meaning that if two people tied for first in an event with 10 participants, they will both get 9 points. 8 points because they played better than 8 other players, and one point for participating
